As Hitachi Data Systems’ public relations agency, Walt & Company helped position it as a leader in enterprise and departmental systems storage in key markets, including the federal government and financial services. Our strategy focused on demonstrating HDS’ market value and relevancy by communicating its open system attributes, demonstrating its capability to provide specific solutions to unique enterprise challenges, and showcasing milestone-caliber achievements. The cornerstone of this effort was an aggressive campaign to enhance relationships with key editors and analysts following HDS’ application and technology markets. The program included product launches, development and placement of technical articles, and ongoing strategic communications counsel.
Results: The program resulted in significantly enhanced coverage of the company’s products, and regular inclusion of HDS executive and customer insight into news following high-profile market issues. News and analyst targets ranged from leading research firms, including Gartner, IDC and Aberdeen, to leading horizontal enterprise media, including Computerworld, InformationWeek and eWeek, and key vertical media include Healthcare Systems and Federal Computer Week. Based on the success of our efforts, Walt & Company was asked to work with Hitachi Software, a supplier of Open Systems middleware solutions.
